Hey! Welcome back to rewind. This week we are jumping back to 2004, a record number of cars were sold in the UK, Peppa pig made her first appearance and actress Millie Bobby Brown was born. So a pretty fun time, but for us, one of the most prominent memories of 2004 is the number one hit "Unwritten" by Natasha Beddingfield. It was played on repeat, every station all day, every day. And it wasn't just the UK that loved this track. It was a number one hit in the US as well. The album "unwritten" actually sold 2.3 million copies world wide.
The song was written by Bedingfield, Danielle Brisebois, and Wayne Rodrigues and produced by Rodrigues and Brisebois. Now for the good bit, the video. The US version of the video is the best. It shows Natasha in an elevator, stopping at each floor and experiencing different things. It's full of 2000's style, everything looks like it's glowing in an amber hue. The track finale is the best, with a choir appearing from nowhere. Its truly great.
