What makes "The Holiday" so good?
It's that time of year and I don’t know about you guys but the only Christmas film for me is the Holiday. I mean we are spoilt for choice with jiggle all the way and the Grinch etc but the Holiday is just one of those films that really gets me in the Christmas mood.
So what is it that makes it so good? For me, maybe it's the idea that all of your issues are easily fixed with some romance and the fairytale ending. Maybe its just Jude Law (in this film) turning up out of nowhere and being super charming. Maybe it's because Amanda woods (Cameron Diaz) is so relatable. Maybe Iris (Kate Winslet) is so relatable? I don’t know!
It's so hard to choose but my fav scene has got to be when Imogen Heap’s “Let Go" starts playing in the pub. When Jude Law sees Cameron Diaz from across the pub. From that moment on you know the film is gonna get good.
If you haven’t watched it yet this year then do it! I recommend a warm fire, hot chocolate with marshmallows or mulled wine. If for some reason you haven’t seen the film then I suggest you rectify that situation as soon as possible.
