The Brand
Good News is one of those brands that makes you feel good about what you're wearing. Founded by East London locals Nia Jones and Ben Tattersall, the brand bridges the gap between the classic canvas plimsoll and modern footwear trends, all while keeping ethics and sustainability at the core of everything they do.
Pairing their love of '70s American culture with retro Major League Baseball aesthetics, Nia and Ben set out to create the ultimate canvas sneaker. Simple, stylish, and consciously made, Good News trainers feature minimalist designs with canvas uppers and chunky rubber outsoles. Available in a range of beautiful colourways, each style is assigned its own name, from the OG Hurler to the chunky Ace and the cosy Palm.
Sustainability at Every Step
What sets Good News apart is its commitment to ethical production throughout the supply chain. Here's what makes them special:
Organic Cotton: Good News produces its beautiful canvas uppers without pesticides, toxins, GMO seeds, or chemical fertilisers, with minimal environmental impact.
Recycled Materials: The midsoles are made from recycled rubber, produced from old rubber shoes and car tyres. Even the footbeds are made from recycled gym mats.
Eco-Friendly Production: Water-based glues are used throughout, making the production process environmentally friendly. Even the packaging uses recycled cardboard.
Vegan-Friendly: If you're searching for sneakers that look good, are vegan-friendly, and are earth-conscious, Good News delivers.
The Styles
The Classics: The original Good News silhouette is a baseball-inspired canvas sneaker with a straightforward design. Durable heavyweight canvas and a solid sole unit make these perfect for both summer and winter.
Ace & Juice Hi: These styles feature a distinctive chunky recycled midsole and eco footbed for ultimate cushioned comfort. The Juice Hi offers a high-top option with the same sustainable credentials.
Hurler Hi: One of the OGs from Good News, featuring beautiful 100% organic flat waxed cotton. A sleeker option with a recycled midsole from the very first collection.
Palm: A cosy high-top boot perfect for colder months. Features a thick, chunky midsole and uses old gym mats for insoles. Available in vibrant multi-colours and earthy Moroccan tones, as well as classic Beige.
Roopa: A delightful padded boot that's super comfy and cosy. The footbed is made from recycled gym mats, the rubber is 20% recycled, and the glue is water-based.
Giving Back
Good News is all about giving back. We're proud to mention them as one of the amazing brands that are part of the Good Luck Shoes charity. The charity donates to an immigration centre in Italy, where refugees arrive in Europe, often with only rubber sandals. Good News has transported sneakers directly to the centre, with over 525 pairs donated. Each season, they continue to donate dead stock to those in desperate need of proper footwear.
