feature: carhartt wip in the park
We re-imagine the typically uniform silhouettes that made Carhartt WIP so successful by offering a fun-loving perspective. On a bright winter's day over the Walthamstow marshes, we take our Carhartt WIP Autumn/ Winter 18’ selection for a walk in the park. Featuring heavy-weight cotton twill utility jackets and camo fleece, the collection hosts pieces that stay true to the exceptional Carhartt WIP quality and branding.
Born in Dearborn, Michigan in 1889, the brand first manufactuered heavy, woven cotton overalls for blue collared workers in the Detroit area. This was even before the manufacturing of cars blew up through Henry Ford. Providing great quality, hard-wearing clothing for the fairly paid unionised workforce, offered great crediblity to the brand, which is still a great belief in the company today.
It wasn't until the early 90's when two German denim specialists, Edwin and Salomee Faeh first establish Carhartt 'Work in Progress', as the first distributor of the brand in Europe. The brand gained considerable popularity in the hip-hop scene during the 90's, through the likes of Tupac and Dr Dre being fans themselves. However, the effortlessly cool styles, uncompromising quality and the Carhartt brand values are the core factors that make it one of our favourite brands at pam pam.
