Candice, how did you get into videography and image making?

I discover the beauty of filmmaking when I was studying in Fashion stying course at LCF.

Since graduating from the London College of Fashion last year, how has your work changed and progressed in your personal and professional projects?

Creativity, I won't say it changed much since then as I'm constantly searching for different ideas, creating a vision that is meaningful for me personally and professionally. One thing dose changed is that I get to have opportunities work with different levels of creatives to help me, allow me to bring my works into better version of it.

You're originally from Taiwan, do you ever draw influences from your native country and your Taiwanese-Chinese upbringing?

Always. I often inspired by the experiences I had while growing up in Taiwan and transform the emotion visually.

Who are your top favourite visual artists that you admire or aspire to be like?

Too many that I don't even know where to start from because I am not only inspired or admire just visual artists, it could be a song, a sentence, a movement I observed from strangers. I admire a lot of people and just aspire to be an artist who works can influence and inspired others in positives way.

You switch between analogue and digital processes, what do you love most about exploring both mediums in your editorial and personal work?

I love the different scenes and emotions both mediums brings but I especially love exploring analogue 16mm at the moment as its vintage texture combine with modern fashion is fascinating.

Can you walk us through your ideas behind the Vans x Frida Kahlo x pam pam project, and how Frida Kahlo's work has inspired decisions made on process and image making?

Each short video has its meaning behind and mostly inspired by her life and specific artwork that is printed on the shoes.

You're often inspired by relationships and female studies, how has being a female in the creative film industry helped you challenge briefs with such themes?

I think as a woman myself, I feel grateful that I have a voice and freedom to create and challenge stereotypes towards female in all ways. I'm no saint, but I do hope my works can more or less let people be more open-minded, understand and change their perspective, even just a little bit.

What other projects do you have in the pipeline that we should keep our eyes peeled for?

I'm working on few personal projects but still on early stage and editorial projects for Vogue China. Keep you eyes on ;)
