Founded in Boston in 1906, New Balance is one of the most well-known sneaker brands within the streetwear industry. Historically, New Balance has prided itself upon the Made in England range which are handcrafted with premium materials in Flimby.

However, a fresh wave of New Balance has approached us – with the credit of footwear designer, Charlotte Lee. Creating some of New Balances most in demand sneakers in recent years like the New Balance 327, 237 and XC-72, Charlotte took her inspiration from previous New Balances silhouettes and added a modern twist.

The New Balance 327 is held down as one of the most successful New Balance releases in the game, debuting on the Paris Fashion Week Runway in January 2020. Charlotte and her all-female team took around two years designing, developing, adapting and perfecting the 327 before its debut – being highly regarded for her commitment to authentic storytelling. Since then, it has been produced in a series of distinctive colourways – yet it still manages to sell out rapidly, particularly in sought after women’s sizes. It is not only the fashion community that is obsessing over the 327, it is widely respected amongst other brands which is evidenced by a series of successful collaborations like the New Balance 327 x Casablanca.

Combined with styles from the seventies alongside the future, the 327 is a cult sneaker whilst still having a product story enriched in culture. One of the most visible features on the 327 is the enlarged ‘N’ which was used to celebrate the origins of the iconic logo which was born in 1976 – making the seventies an extremely significant decade for the branding and identity of New Balance.  The 327 also adopts a quirky shaped silhouette, with a fanged toe box which sculpts in on the midsole and has a circular studded outsole.
