If there was a list of “Iconic Nike Things”, the Waffle outsole would be one of them. Created in 1972, the shoe’s tread was developed with the idea of using the household waffle pattern. Nike co-founder, Bill Bowerman, lamented running shoes of the time, saying there was too much going on. And in present day, the same can kind of be said once more, particularly when it comes to materials used. Why make more when you can reuse? The Nike Waffle Crater does just that, using recycled materials to make the classic Waffle outsole. Definitely a big step in the right direction! The Nike Waffle Crater Racer is now available in two excellent colourways. Shop now!
