Women's Veja Trainers

Women's Veja trainers, from the Paris label Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion set up in 2004. Veja says its rubber comes from the Amazon and its organic cotton from farmers' associations in Brazil and Peru. Which Veja Trainers, and What Size to Order

Sizing is where Veja catches people out. It only makes whole EU sizes, so there's no half size to fall back on. The V-10 and V-12 tend to come up large, so if you're between sizes, go down. The Campo and the Rio Branco are closer to true to size. As a rough guide, EU 37 is a UK 4 and EU 38 a UK 5. If you're unsure, the Campo is the safest first pair.

Veja Leather Trainers and the Rio Branco

Most of what we stock is low and made of leather or suede: the V-10, the Campo, the Volley, the V-90 and the V-12. They're plain enough to wear with straight jeans, wide trousers or a slip dress, and the differences come down to the details, the shape of the V on the side and how much of the sole shows. For something sportier, the Rio Branco has a padded, running-shoe build, and the Paulistana, Condor and Salar sit in the same camp. What Veja Says About How Its Trainers Are Made

Veja has built its name on how it sources materials, so it's worth knowing what the brand itself says. It says its rubber is Amazonian, its organic cotton is grown by farmers' associations in Brazil and Peru, and its trainers are made in factories in Brazil and Portugal. Veja also says it doesn't advertise.
