Arwa Al Banawi for adidas Originals

adidas Originals teams up with Saudi designer, Arwa Al Banawi, to place her unique spin on the Forum Low. Previously an investment banker, Arwa Al Banawi saw a gap in womenswear that is both professional and fashion forward and so launched her brand in 2015. Forever a champion of her home region, Arwa’s goal is to communicate to the world her Arab culture as well as women’s empowerment through her designs.

Focusing on the Forum Low, Arwa has drawn inspiration from her spirit animal, the Ibex, and from traditional Arab woven fabrics. The result is a lovely off-white canvas upper with lux suede overlays, all in desert-esque tones to represent her Gulf heritage. The checkered print on the back pays homage to traditional fabrics while the metallic gold co-branding and lace jewel let’s all know who created these beautiful sneakers! Available online and in store from the 28th of May.
