Yeti Water Bottles, Coolers & Mugs

YETI started in 2006 when two brothers in Texas got fed up with coolers that broke when you stood on them, and built one using the moulding process from whitewater kayaks. It cost about ten times what a cooler cost at the time and it sold anyway. The Rambler bottles and tumblers came later and are now the bulk of what YETI makes. We stock those, the Yonder bottles, the Roadie and Hopper coolers, and the GoBox cases.

YETI Rambler Bottles, Tumblers and Mugs

Rambler is the stainless steel range and it's most of what's here. The thing that matters when you're choosing is the lid, not the bottle. Chug caps have a narrow spout so you get a mouthful rather than the lot; straw mugs are the ones that end up living on a desk; tumblers have a slide lid and will spill if you knock them over. There's also a French press and a cocktail shaker in the range now, which is a fair distance from a fishing cooler.

YETI Yonder and Shaker Bottles

Steel is heavy once it's full, and that's the whole argument for Yonder. It's plastic, it's lighter, it costs less and it isn't insulated, so your water won't still be cold at four o'clock. For carrying about all day and refilling as you go, that trade is usually worth making. The Tether version keeps the cap attached to the bottle, which sounds like nothing until you've lost one. The shaker bottles are the same plastic with a mixer inside.

YETI Roadie and Hopper Cool Boxes

The Roadies are the hard ones, and they're rotomoulded — the shell is formed in a single piece with no seams to split, which is where the money goes. Roadie 8 for a day, 24 for a weekend, 60 on wheels for when carrying it stops being sensible. The Hoppers are soft-sided and fold flat, so they suit a picnic better than a hard box does. Alongside them sit the GoBox cases, which keep water out rather than cold in, and three backpacks including one that's properly submersible.
