Finally, we have reached December - let the festive season begin! And what better movie to kick things off than an off-beat, under appreciated gem that is set at Christmas. Fire up some hot chocolate and sit down to The Long Kiss Goodnight.

What's forgotten is not always gone

Samantha Caine (Geena Davis) is a school teacher in a small town in Pennsylvania. She has an eight year old daughter, Cailtlin (Yvonne Zima) and lives with her boyfriend Hal (Tom Amandes) Eight years and two months earlier, Samantha was found washed up on a riverbank two months pregnant and suffering from amnesia. With no recollection of her previous life, she hires private detective and lowlife Mitch (Samuel L. Jackson) to find out who she really was. But a car accident gives Samantha a bump on the head and new memories and skills from her previous life that she wasn't expecting - adept with a knife, able to kill a person with her bare hands.... strange? Worried that she is a danger to Caitlan and Hal, she leaves with Mitch to get to the bottom of her past.

Geena and Samuel are excellent in this spy thriller. Plenty of intrigue, violence and humour to go at. Mr Jackson has since said on Jimmy Fallon that Mitch is his favourite role to date! We hope you enjoy this '90s classic.
